WPA3 to be launched in 2018
With WPA2 being on the market since 15 years already and due to recent hacks over WPA2, WI-FI Alliance has announced WPA3 to be launched in 2018.
What will WPA3 do?
- Will improve user privacy: when they connect to open Wi-Fi networks by introducing individualized data encryption
- Will have a higher security standard: 192-bit encryption with is currently used by governments and big companies
- Focus on IOT devices: with the expansion of IOT and smart devices for sure this will be a challenge in the coming years
- we will have a new handshake protocol less vulnerable to attacks
